Hydrofoil Grand Prix Mexico

So happy to make it back to La Ventana after 2 years of travel restrictions. I absolutely love this place and the conditions are always favorable. This year there were quite a few international riders in La Ventana for training including some from the UK, Austria, France, USA, Israel, and others.

I spent two weeks there and nearly every day had perfect conditions for kite foiling.

The training culminated with a 5 day regatta called the Hydrofoil Grand Prix. This was its inaugural year and was a total success with over 20 races completed. We had one day which was cancelled due to TOO MUCH WIND. That is a rare occurrence in kiteboarding.

I took what I learned in Florida and put it to work in Mexico. I had some very good starts and pushed the speed up wind. Some of my results were pretty decent including a 2nd place in one race. I did get myself into a couple of unfortunate scenarios including one tangle which retracted from my overall results. However, I am really happy with the event and what I have learned this winter so far.
