Hydrofoil kiteboarding will be in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The event will be a mixed female/male event where teammates from the same country will be scored together to determine ranking. In Canada, there is a serious need for more female athletes in the sport. If we are going to have a competitive team for the 2024 games we will need to encourage female athletes to join the sport and compete.
Myself and a few other concerned members of the kite community in Canada are hosing the first ever Canadian Women’s Kitefoil Clinic. This event will bring a handful of new kiteboarders together in hopes of sparking their interest in the competitive side of the sport. We want to increase overall competition level and create a network of athletes for training purposes.
