FORK 3 Regatta Day 1

Last weekend we held the third installment of the FORK Regatta in Kingston, Ontario. Competitors from various parts of Canada and the United States traveled here to sail in fresh water

Day one consisted of west wind at 16-20 knots and the majority of the fleet riding 11m and 15m kites. With permission of the the City we hosted the event at the new Breakwater Park on the shore of Lake Ontario. Race Officer, Graham Tattersall hammered out 6 races with target finish times at approximately 11 minutes in length.

I finished in 4th place the first 2 races of the day while riding my new F-ONE Diablo V4 11 meter kite. This kite was an absolute machine and opened up a new gear downwind that I had not previously felt. Some silly errors put me further back in the fleet for the rest of the races on Saturday including an OCS (or false start infringement).

More racing tomorrow and with north wind in the forecast we will be relocating to Wolfe Island for some beautiful flat water racing.

More to come!
