Early September marked the end of my Nursing program at Queen’s University and the start of a adventure to The Outer Banks, North Carolina with my friend Graham before starting work.
The 13 hour drive was worth every minute when we finally secured some wonderful sessions. Graham spent the week learning and was able to make some huge improvements. I spent the week working on kite control, trying to become more familiar with the feel of each of my kites. This is in hopes of reducing the amount of time I spend looking at the kite and can further focus on my surroundings such as other racers or wind shifts on the course.
Our week was cut a little short with the impending doom of Hurricane Irma heading toward the east coast and devastating South Florida. We traveled north on the Outer Banks to a safer spot in Kill Devil Hills where we spent two days riding before returning to Canada.
